Stainless steel shower hose length
Most shower heads with hose-sets come with the standard 60-inch hose. While 5 feet may seem like a good amount, it’s honestly not ideal.
Why? A most standard tub and shower set-ups are about 5 feet long. But, you lose at least 6 inches of actual reach when you consider the bending that the hose has to make to reach the back wall of the shower. And that’s just for standard showers.

Shower hose Material
The most common hose materials on the market are PVC, rubber, steel wire, which has good bending resistance, is not easy to break, and has a longer service life.
The China stainless steel shower hose is the link that connects the hand shower to the tap. It is composed of an EPDM inner tube, high-temperature nylon core, and 304 stainless steel outer tubes. The shower hose nuts are made of copper, and the gasket is made of NBR. Tri-ethyl propylene rubber is a copolymer, ethylene, propylene, and non-conjugated diolefins that are polymerized with a solution of rubber. Why use this rubber for a hose?
First of all, this rubber is very good for aging and hot water, and the sanitary hose can be used for long periods of hot water, so using EPDM as a hose is the best material.
Followed by elastic, in the use of hand-held shower need to constantly stretch to flush the body, and EPDM molecular chain can maintain flexibility in a wider range, can remain under low, so this is also the designers to choose one of the leading causes of EPDM.
How to install a shower with hose
Step 1: Remove old shower head & clean shower arm
Depending on how long your old shower head has been installed, you may be able to remove it by hand. If not, you can use an adjustable wrench to unthread the shower head-turning, it in a clockwise counterclockwise motion.
Step 2: Apply new Teflon tape to the shower arm
Now that you’ve cleaned your shower arm, it’s time to apply new Teflon tape, ensuring a leak-free seal when installing your shower head.
Starting at the bottom of the pipe, work your way up the threads, giving it about 4 to 5 turns. Finally, smooth out the Teflon tape onto the shower arm threads using your fingers.
Step 3: Install the hand held shower head with hose
1. Install the shower holder
Start by tightening the shower head holder by hand, going in a clockwise motion. You can now tighten it down, even more, using a pair of soft grip pliers or an adjustable wrench.
2.Install the shower head hose
Start by placing one washer inside of the hex nut and hand tightening the hose onto the bottom of the shower holder threads.
3. Dock your hand held shower head
With your holder, hose and showerhead installed, dock your hand shower into your shower holder.
Step 4: test for leaks
Let’s run some water through the hand held shower head and test it out. There are three areas you want to check to see if there are any leaks:
Where the shower holder connects to the shower arm.
Where the shower hose connects to the shower holder.
Where the shower hose connects to the handshower.
