Showerheads are commonly used in household appliances, but they are prone to water leakage when used for a long time. This not only affects the effect of the spray head but also affects the mood of the bath. In daily life, it is necessary to understand some repair methods for leaking shower heads.
First, distinguish the leaking position of the shower head, and then repair it.
1. Leakage caused by the steering ball of the shower head
First, unscrew the shower head from the steering ball ring, find the O-ring or similar seal inside and replace it, and then rotate the shower head back to its original position.
2. Leakage caused by sediment in the shower head
Unscrew the shower faucet for cleaning. If necessary, soak the parts with vinegar and scrub the parts. Take care to avoid scratching them. If the shower faucet is an adjustable spray type, carefully inspect all movable parts for excessive wear. If the rotating handle cannot move smoothly or the internal cam is broken, the entire shower head needs to be replaced.
3. Leakage at the connection between the nozzle and the handle
First, use lashing pliers to unscrew the tap handle from the hose. If you use other wrenches, tie the hose with tape to prevent it from being scratched. Then, clean the threads on the handle and apply the plumber’s adhesive or plumber’s tape around the sides. Finally, turn the nozzle back and tighten it by hand, and remove all excess adhesive and tape.
4. The water flow of the spray becomes larger
Rotate the shower head to adjust. If it still doesn't work, open the small round cap in the middle of the shower head with a screwdriver, open the shower head and rinse with clean water. You can also brush the shower hole with a toothbrush, and then install and restore.
